Hurricane code and HVHZ
Yes. Every Istueta install meets or exceeds the Miami-Dade and Broward High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) code, the most stringent wind-resistance standard in the Florida Building Code. HVHZ compliance requires roofing products that carry a current Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA), a fully bonded secondary water barrier over the deck, and a fastener pattern installed to match each product's NOA. On every project we install only NOA-approved systems, pull the Miami-Dade permit, and pass the staged inspections the code requires: a dry-in inspection of the secondary water barrier, an in-progress inspection of the fastening, and a final inspection at close-out.
Wind-uplift ratings are set per system by its Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) and vary with the product, the deck, and the fastening pattern. Every system we install carries a current NOA and is fastened to that NOA's specification, which is how HVHZ compliance is met. The documented rating for your specific roof is part of the close-out packet we hand you.
Typically yes, when the new roof carries a documented wind-uplift rating, a fully bonded secondary water barrier, and current inspection paperwork. At close-out we hand you the complete HVHZ documentation packet: the Notice of Acceptance for each installed product, the recorded fastener pattern, the signed Miami-Dade permit with its staged inspection approvals, and the wind mitigation report your insurance carrier needs to apply available wind-mitigation credits.
