Miami’s Best Brined Turkey

We may be your Miami roofing specialists but we also love a good meal! Here is a great brine recipe that will work wonderfully for your 12-14lb turkey.

The holiday season is here and everyone’s getting their belts loosened for the last of the parties of 2013. With all the holiday meal prep awaiting us, I thought I’d give everyone the gift of having one less thing to stress over.

This month I’m sharing a brine recipe that’s good for a 12-14lb turkey. I like using a brine with my turkey because it gives you a tender, juicy dinner. And, as we know, the only thing better than a turkey dinner is a week of figuring out what to do with all the leftovers!

 

Ingredients:

1 cup Salt

1 Lemon, cut into wedges

1 Orange, cut into wedges

1 Medium Onion, cut into wedges

3 Garlic Cloves

4 Bay Leaves

1 Tablespoon Dried Thyme

1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper

1 ½ gallons Cold Water

Directions:

Rub salt on the turkey. Place ingredients and remaining salt into a large pot, then adding the turkey and lastly the water. Keep it in the fridge overnight. In the morning you can throw out the brine and then roast your turkey as you normally do. And then enjoy!
